The Key To Digital Tachograph Downloading
Birmingham, October 01, 2008
The VDO Downloadkey second generation model brings more features making downloading digital tachograph and driver data quick and easy for drivers and fleet operators.
To significantly reduce the time it takes to download digital tachograph data, the Downloadkey II features faster processors and is set to only download 'since last download' rather than the entire data. The 16 times larger memory provides more capacity for approximately 1,500 bi-monthly downloads. Other highlights include a traffic light indicator which clearly displays the download status and its memory capacity. The key bears the traffic light system on both sides, where it is clearly visible to the driver, regardless of where the tachograph is mounted in the cab. In addition, a bleeping sound occurs indicating the download is complete and the key should be removed.
"The VDO Downloadkey II is the ideal way for drivers and fleet operators to meet their legal requirement to download data from digital tachographs at least every 56 days and download the Driver Card at least every 28 days" says Peter Needham, VDO Product Manager.
The VDO Downloadkey II does not require a separate power supply and is compatible with all makes of digital tachograph. The unit features a download plug which plugs directly into the digital tachograph, where it automatically downloads data from the unit. At the opposite end is a USB high-speed plug which plugs directly into a computer and uploads data quickly and reliably. Using the software included, the Downloadkey can be configured to download specific data such as detailed speed data, activities and technical faults. The data can also be imported for analysis into an analysis software package such as VDO TIS-Web.
The Download Starter Kit includes a VDO Downloadkey II, a user guide and box of 3 printer rolls and costs just £195 + VAT. Free technical support is available and updates are provided via the VDO website. Solutions are available to purchase on-line at uk.vdo.com or from our VOSA approved network of distributors.
